Bambino's Bistro - Real NYC Italian in Upstate - Auburn, NY

Bambino's Bistro is exactly the type of very good Italian restaurant one would find in NYC - and that makes sense as the proprietor, Guillermo, owned an Italian restaurant in NYC for years. Authentic NYC Italian touches abound - the fish is shipped directly from Hunter's Point Fish Market in NYC, the mozzarella is made on premise, the pasta is made in house (which showed wonderfully in the soft-fullness of the ravioli). Finding an authentic Italian restaurant is true joy - finding one in the Finger Lakes makes Bambino Bistro a unique gem. Eating at Bambino's Bistro is a rare treat as both your taste buds and wallet are being treated with tender care. Be sure to bring your own bottle of wine as Bambino's does not have a liquor license - yet.



The Food:
  • Ravioli Fantasia - is heaven on a plate, soft as butter, house signature dish, made on site and amazingly good - tomato dough filled with goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach and topped with a dreamy Vodka sauce
  • Grilled Sea Bass is generous, moist, light and refreshing. Comes topped with a honey balsamic sauce and sauteed spinach
  • Fried Calamari is prepared wonderfully, delicate, fresh with a hint of sweetness and contrasts nicely with the spicy Marinara
  • Margherita Grilled Charcoal Pizza Northern Italian thin crust, fresh tomato sauce, house-made fresh + flavorful mozzarella cheese and basil



    The Experience:
  • Cozy and comfy but not claustrophobic
  • Allow you to sit and enjoy your food - very relaxing atmosphere
  • The sauces are amazing at Bambino's - be sure to dip your bread early and often
  • Order a dish that has mozzarella as it is made on premise and gives new meaning to fresh

    The Price:
  • Apps from $4 to $9, pasta from $9 to $16, entrees from $11 to $17
  • Bambino's is spot on with prices - you spend a little and get a lot
  • Well worth the drive from Skaneateles
